The Poodle, though often equated to the beauty with no brains, is exceptionally smart, active and excels in obedience training. The breed comes in three size varieties, which may contribute to why Poodle is one of the most popular breeds according to AKC®
Registration statistics. Poodles can be a variety of solid colors, including white, black, apricot and gray, but never parti-colored.
Is the Poodle the Right Breed for you?
  • High Maintenance: Grooming should be performed often to keep the dog's coat in good shape. Professional trimming or stripping needed.
  • Minimal Shedding: Recommended for owners who do not want to deal with hair in their cars and homes.
  • Easy Training: The Poodle is known to listen to commands and obey its owner. Expect fewer repetitions when training this breed.
  • Great Watchdog Ability: This dog will bark and alert its owners when an intruder is present. It exhibits very protective behavior, acts fearless toward any aggressor, and will do what it takes to guard and protect its family.
  • Medium Adaptability: It needs regular exercise for apartment living and is best with a small to average-size yard. This breed is able to handle most types of hot and cold weather.
  • Very Active: It will need daily exercise to maintain its shape. Committed and active owners will enjoy performing fitness activities with this breed.
  • Good for New Owners: This breed is well suited for those who have little experience with dog ownership.
  • Good with Kids: This is a suitable breed for kids and is known to be playful, energetic, and affectionate around them.

Nigerian doctors suspend 55 days old strike

TVC NEWS [ABUJA]- The striking Nigerian Medical doctors under the aegis of the Nigerian Medical Association, on Sunday suspended their 55 day-old industrial action with immediate effect. President of the association, Dr. Kayode Obembe, who addressed journalists in Abuja, subsequently, directed members to resume at their various duty posts on Monday. The doctors began their industrial action on July 1, 2014 over a 24-point demands bothering on welfare, condition of service and poor facilities in government hospitals. But obembe said the decision to suspend the industrial action was taken after the Emergency Delegate Meeting of the association, held in Abuja on Saturday. He explained that the strike was suspended in the interest of urgent national emergencies while negotiations with the Federal Government continues.
