Patience Jonathan Salutes Falconets Speculative Performance

 Dame Patience Jonathan on Monday congratulated Super Falconets top scorer, Asisat Oshoala, for winning the Golden Boot and the Golden ball awards of the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women World Cup.

Nigeria’s Falconets lost 1-0 to Germany in the final of the competition.

She also praised the gallant fight put up by the young ladies against their Germany counterparts in Montreal, Canada.

In a statement issued by her Media Assistant, Ayo Adewuyi, in Abuja, the first lady praised Oshoala’s dexterity on the field of play describing her as an inspiration to aspiring female footballers.

She urge‎d her to continue to work harder for future glories.

While congratulating the team for its wonderful performance, the First Lady also saluted “their burning desire’’ to be victorious and praised the team for doing the country proud.

Dame Jonathan praised the team’s versatility, accurate passes and the team spirit.

 “The girls have made Nigerian women proud by exhibiting an unprecedented patriotic zeal and a great determination resisting the German onslaught,’’ she said.

 She also commended their handlers for their dedication to duty and determination to see the girls through.
