The manner in which Jide Tinubu, first son of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu, died has been revealed. Former Mr Nigeria and actor, Kenneth Okolie has released his pre-wedding photos with US-based wife, Jessica. Kenneth Okolie, proposed to his US-based girlfriend, Jessica Nwakah sometimes around January. The two have been dating after he split upwith his ex. This will be Kenneth's second engagement. In 2012, he got engaged to his former girlfriend Mariam but they later called it off.  Come December 16th, 2017, the couple will have their white wedding. They had their traditional wedding earlier this year – April 15th.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested the driver of a hotel operator on Victoria Island, William Olowoloju, for allegedly kidnapping his boss’ younger brother and the victim’s girlfriend. Olowoloju and three others –Ayo Akinola, Segun Teluwo and one Akindamola – reportedly kidnapped the victims, Dumebi Azuka and Rebecca Omokoro, on Elegba Festival Drive, Oniru Private Estate, Victoria Island, at about 11.30pm on Saturday, October 21. The lovers were driving out of the estate in a Ford Jeep when the abductors reportedly waylaid them at gunpoint and tied them up. They were said to have driven the victims to their hideout in Agodo Alara village, Ogijo, Ogun State, and demanded N20m ransom from the hotelier, Edwin Azuka. Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has revealed how she overcame the crisis that rocked her marriage with her husband Tunji Balogun aka Teebillz in 2016 who accused her of sleeping around with men. Speaking in a recent interview with Sunday Guardian, Tiwa Savage said she relied on God for help. She said: “My mother has always told me that, in this life, God only gives you what you can handle. It was a very trying time but God in his infinite mercies gave me the grace to see it through. It only made me stronger.” In recent times, the couple have rekindled their love again as the husband does not miss any opportunity to praise her on social media. The duo have been pictured smiling happily on outings and also seen attending church events together with their son Jamil. The singer’s fans have urged them on to continue in this light.

At least five people were killed this morning when a suicide bomber blew himself up inside a mosque in Maiduguri, a militia member assisting the military against Boko Haram jihadists said. The leader of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Ajiri Yala, some 15 kilometres (10 miles) north of Maiduguri, said the attack happened at about 4:30 am. “A male suicide bomber disguised as a worshipper entered the mosque while people were gathering for the morning prayers,” he told AFP by telephone. “He detonated his explosives. He killed five people and injured several others.” Boko Haram typically never claims responsibility but has used suicide bombing as a frequent tactic in its eight-year insurgency to establish a hard line Islamic state. What appears to be, perhaps the longest elusive academic jinx in Nigeria was recently broken by Ozibo Ekele, a 2016 graduate of the famed Ibadan School of History (Department of History), Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan, where he finished top of the Faculty and Department with a B.A. (First Class Honours) and a CGPA of 6.6 out of a possible 7.0. By this feat, he became the first person to graduate with First Class Honours in the 69-year-old Department. Ozibo who is also a 2013 Mass Communication graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, is therefore expected to cart away several academic Prizes in the forthcoming 2017 Convocation ceremony of the University of Ibadan. A 22-year-old lady, identified as Tina Rebecca Sunday, is being held by the police in Enugu for killing her uncle, one Friday Mathew. The incident occurred in the Independence Layout area of Enugu on Thursday, October 26, 2017. It was gathered that the lady, Tina, a native of Ikot Udobang Ukanafon, in Akwa Ibom State, lived with the now deceased uncle in Ezilo Street, Independence Layout, Enugu. It was further gathered that Tina was arrested by operatives of the New Haven police station, Enugu, while attempting to escape, after committing the crime. But the lady, in her confessional statement, has described the killing as accidental. Tina disclosed that she killed Mathew, a 48-year-old man, while struggling to escape his attempt to have forceful carnal knowledge of her.
