Skazyupdate A Head Teacher with the Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, on Grade Level 13 has been demoted to the post of a gate man on Grade Level 04, while 758 others were sent to lower grade levels for using fake certificates to gain employment into the service. Dr. Stephen Odey, Chairman of SUBEB, told Vanguard in Calabar that over 758 teachers with fake certificates and 700 ghost teachers were uncovered during screening across the state. He said: “We got a lot of petitions from stakeholders intimating us about the presence of teachers in the system who are using fake certificates and we had to embark on a screening of the teachers across the state and what we saw was marvelous.” Dr. Odey said the fake certificates have been confiscated from their owners. Skazyupdate Sequel to the alleged tedious in the on-going registration of candidates, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ibadan (UI) chapter has called on the Federal Government to scrap the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Speaking on Wednesday in Ibadan, its Chairman, Dr. Deji Omole, called on the Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede to voluntarily resign from office. He said the board has outlived its usefulness and also reduced the standard of offering admission to students, hence, it must be scrapped immediately to allow universities set a new standard of admission. Skazyupdate Policemen in Bauchi state have captured a dreaded Boko Haram leader, one Muhammad Adamu Nafiu, aged 25, of Balanga, Gombe State, at Tama village in Toro LGA of the state. The announcement was made by the Commissioner of Police, Garba Umar yesterday. He said the suspect is a notorious top commander of Boko Haram, who relocated to Tama village in order to evade arrest after the sect was dislodged by troops at Sambisa Forest. "Preliminary investigation revealed that suspect was among those declared by the Nigerian Army on Serial Number 176 on its wanted list. "He has voluntarily confessed to have killed over 150 people in Baga LGA of Borno State alone.
